Hulu Labs Face Match

Hulu isn’t known to add new features and further technology, but this time they did with their release of “Face Match”. It does exactly what you think it will do, but in a much better way and more useful. If you are not aware of Hulu, it is a video streaming site, but based around TV and Movies. You can watch TV shows and Movies for free, or subscribe to their premium program of Hulu Plus to get more episodes of shows, less advertisements, and access to TV shows and Movies only Plus members are allowed to access.

Google Hangouts now in Gmail

At midnight on May 25, 2013 Google released the new Hangouts Feature in GMail, at least for me. Other than the old chat only having text and the possibility for voice and video calls, Hangouts adds a few nice new features. If you would like to try the new Hangouts, you don’t need Google Plus setup, all you need is a Google Account and GMail since that is where the client resides.

Chrome Update 28.0.1500.20 beta-m

In another attempt for Google to better push their search engine to users who already know about it, Google Chrome Beta changes its New Tab page back to the search engine. If you have been using Chrome Beta since April you would be aware of their previous attempt that I further talk about here. The Chrome Update of 28.0.1500.20 was released May 23, 2013 and you can check if you are using this version by navigating to chrome://version/.

Google Maps 2013 Update

At Google IO 2013, Google announced the new Google Maps they have been working on. It has been available for use for a while before then but not as easily accessible to the public. I finally got a try at it and have to say it is an update into the right direction. The Design The first thing you notice about the new Google Maps is the design. The map is now displayed over the full window / screen for larger viewing.

Chrome Update 27.0.1453.56 beta-m

Google Chrome released their new beta version today, with some large changes that will most likely affect you if you are using Google Chrome Beta. The newest release is 27.0.1453.56 beta-m and you can see if you are using this version by navigating to chrome://chrome/. The first main change is the “New Tab” page. The new “New Tab” page is a Google search page. It looks very similar to Google.
